Overview

Natural (S4) Rowing Machine is hand-crafted in solid Ash and stained Honey Oak for consistency of color. Each machine has been hand-finished with Danish Oil giving a deep lustre and warmth to the wood. Wood has been chosen due to its marvellous engineering properties. Primary amongst these is its ability to absorb sound and vibration enhancing the WaterRower Natural in Ash (S4)’s quietness and smoothness of use. Ash, like all woods used in WaterRower construction, is a premium hardwood with incredible longevity and dimensional stability. For reasons of ecology, all woods are harvested from replenishable forests.

Performance Monitor – The Series 4 Performance Monitor has been designed to balance technical sophistication with user-friendliness.
The monitor has 6 information and programming windows, 6 QuickSelection buttons and 3 navigation buttons.
It displays workout intensity, strokerate, heartrate, zone bar, duration, and distance.
Compatible with the optional WaterRower Heart Rate Chest Strap and Receiver, the Series 4 Performance Monitor will allow you to optimize your workout, achieve your exercise objectives and encourage you to exercise regularly.

Ok but with some reservations, limited comparison w Concept 2
Update - Water rower sent me a new sensor and disk which fixed the computer. It was relatively easy to install. I would like to upgrade my rating to 4. Everyone likes it and uses it. Why not a five? My remaining nits, which really shouldn't discourage people from buying it are:

1) The footrests. Yup still catches the shoes, even though I changed to ones with narrower heels. I think they could fix this by angling the edges outwards. A bit more substantive design would also be nice. < .... Read more

Great alternative to running
After incurring a foot injury (plantar faciitis) and not being able to run for an extended period of time I sought a "good work-out" alternative. The best rower
Absolutely great! The only thing that beats this is the shell on the river, except when its really cold.

Shipped as promised in good packing and the unit was mostly assembled. The rest was easy.

an exceptional machine
The waterrower is an excellent machine that is exceptionally designed and provides an outstanding workout. I have owned one for about 10 years, and my wife and I both use it regularly. In the entire time I've owned it, the only parts I've had to replace have been the monitor batteries and the double-sided tape that fastens the monitor wire brackets to the frame.
